Yasamin and Andrew’s wedding day was extra special, as they have been friends of mine (Caroline here!) for years. We were lucky enough to help bring their wedding dreams to life at the gorgeous new venue, Grand Gimeno—it was one of their very first weddings! Grand Gimeno provided a stunning modern, but classic backdrop for our wedding design, and we cannot wait to get back there!
Yasamin and Andrew had previously gotten married the year prior (covid times) and were hosting their closest friends and family to celebrate their marriage. You could feel the love instantly as gorgeous white blooms and crisp, dark greenery filled the space and created a dreamy vibe throughout. Their ceremony took place under the gorgeous olive trees as the sun set behind them. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the Olive Grove with live music by Jonathan Salazar and cozy, fireplace lit spaces furnished by Papillon Rentals. When it was time to enter the reception space, champagne glasses with calligraphed names escorted guests to their seats.
Choosing the design elements was my favorite part of the planning process, as the couple wanted classic and traditional styling with hints of modern. We chose a simple, gold edged charger with a classic menu and beautiful name cards calligraphed by Breda Letters, contrasted with modern gold flatware and unique wishbone chairs. The ballroom’s exposed beams and wrought iron chandeliers brought the eye up and gave a romantic feel to the evening. Yasamin and Andrew, in true PL fashion (we have the best, most fun couples) started the evening with a grand entrance followed by a tequila shot to get the party started, and it didn’t stop until late night (after taco bell and chick fila were delivered for a snack, of course).
It truly was a night to remember, and will always be a special wedding to me.
