Hi (Caroline here)!! I am SO excited to finally get to blog about my magical wedding day. I truly get chills every time I relive this day, and I’m so grateful to everyone that made it so special.
When I first created my design board, I chose three words to describe the day: Timeless, Elegant, and Classic. My now husband Nolan’s monogram was always NCL, and I loved that when we got married our wedding monogram would be the same (like I fit right in—cheesy I know!!). We quickly decided that we wanted to carry our classic wedding monogram throughout all elements of the day, which you’ll see on all of the signage, napkins, dance floor, and beyond. Planning during COVID times was a challenge, but allowed me to focus in on all the details that brought our vision to life. I had a lot of time on my hands, and decided to DIY many elements of our wedding day. This meant spending hundreds (or thousands!!!) of hours designing and printing invitations, creating the hand-calligraphed envelopes, embroidering napkins, and using my cricut to design and create all of our frosted acrylic signage. I now have THE MOST respect for my vendor friends who do all of these things—it was not easy! Nolan and I spent many late nights bringing these elements to life in our tiny living room. Despite all of the work, it was completely worth it as I saw it all come together.
When it finally came to our wedding day, I was extremely relaxed thanks to all of the preparation and trust that I have in my amazing Pure Lavish team. Gia and Sam completely took the stress off of my plate, and allowed me to enjoy every minute of our day. We are so fortunate to have great relationships within the wedding world, and relied on many “friendors” to bring our day to life. Le Bloomerie, our amazing florist, played such an instrumental part of our design with the most gorgeous blooms, and Ashley Rae Studio blew me away with her incredible photos and videos, capturing every detail so perfectly. I wish I could have Flora and Fauna (the best caterer) cook for me every day—our surf and turf dinner was impeccable. Other friendors such as Oak Tree Wedding Rentals, Above the Top Rentals, All About Events, and Bottles and Blooms provided rentals that elevated our elegant feel.
I know people tell you that your wedding day is the best day of your life, but it truly wasn’t until we had all of our loved ones in the same room that I understood what that meant. From our personal vows, to the amazing toasts, and even as we danced the night away to our incredible band (shoutout Soulville!), I could feel the love so deeply in every moment. We wanted a whimsical, fairytale day full of love, and I couldn’t have dreamt it better than it ended up—I’m seriously still floating in the clouds!!
