Some weddings leave a lasting impression, and Darby and Austin’s wedding weekend at Villa Como is one I’ll never forget. High school sweethearts, they celebrated the beginning of their next chapter surrounded by 120 of their closest family and friends, and after all these years, they were just as excited to marry each other as they were when they first fell in love.
From the moment I met Darby, I knew this was going to be such a special wedding. Her excitement, kindness, and complete trust throughout the planning process made bringing their vision to life an absolute joy.
Nestled above the Laguna Beach coastline, Villa Como feels like a little slice of Lake Como right here in Southern California. Guests enjoyed a heartfelt ceremony accompanied by a live harpist and violinist, followed by a sunset cocktail hour and dinner beneath twinkle lights before dancing the night away with a DJ and saxophonist.
Every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a warm, timeless atmosphere. Lush white florals, warm candlelight, soft neutral tones, and natural stone accents blended seamlessly with Villa Como’s architecture, making it feel as though we had been transported to Italy. I especially loved how the custom artwork from their invitation liner carried throughout the celebration, from wrapping each of the bars to lining the inside of Austin’s custom tux. Guest experience was at the heart of every decision Darby and Austin made, and it showed in every detail. As the evening cooled, guests were surprised with custom embroidered hats and sweatshirts to keep warm before enjoying a late night pizzookie bar. The celebration ended with the newlyweds making their getaway in a classic Rolls Royce on their way to the after party.
