Three months to plan a modern, lavish winter wonderland wedding? No problem! Planning and designing An and Gary’s gorgeous black, white, and gold wedding was SO much fun, despite the short planning period. Our first design meetings left me beyond excited, as the bride and groom truly put their trust in me to bring their vision to life. Partnering with Butterfly Floral, an incredible floral designer, allowed for us to get creative with lush floral treatments and winter influences, such as clear acrylic snowflakes and metal trees. It was important to me as a designer to ensure that the “winter wonderland” felt clean, modern, and subtle, such as the use of the metal trees to represent Christmas trees, and the introduction of black to provide a modern contrast to the traditional white. We transformed the gorgeous Hilton Waterfront ballroom with crisp, white carpet, and black draping that made the room feel endless. Overhanging florals, crystals, and snowflakes made the guests feel like they were standing under snowfall as the candlelight that filled the room brought warmth to each of the tables. Each guest was greeted with a custom snowflake ornament, personalized by Heidi Davidson Design, and the menu was luxe with steak, seabass, and lobster. Soulville Band by American Events Network kept the guests vibing, and Samba2Love entertained guests with festive dances and costumes. The evening was truly magical—a one of a kind winter wonderland.
