Planning Nick and Daniel’s spring wedding at The Ranch at Laguna Beach was such an honor. These two grooms are the kindest hearted people I have met, and they deserved to be celebrated!!
The grooms decided to get married at the gorgeous Ranch at Laguna Beach. This venue’s natural beauty meant we didn’t need to go overboard with decor—the simple floral paired with the incredible surroundings in the grove of trees made for the most gorgeous wedding ceremony. The grooms leaned into the natural elements of the venue, even asking the flower girls to toss hand punched hearts made out of leaves from the trees as they walked down the aisle.
The cocktail hour was lovely as the incredibly talented Lola Kristine played on the piano and sang, alongside a guitarist, serenading guests as they sipped on elevated cocktails and left audio recorded messages on a vintage phone for the grooms. Daniel keeps his own bees at his house, and even bottled little honey jars for each of their guests to take home—which doubled as a sweet seating chart moment. And let’s not forget the tribute to Daniel’s mom—it was a touching moment that added a personal touch to the affair.
When it came to the reception, the grooms struck the right balance between masculine and elegant. The gorgeous napkins from BBJ La Tavola and custom name plates added the perfect amount of flair.
With Nick and Daniel being in the restaurant biz—owning the famous “Nick’s” restaurants—food was of the upmost importance. Dinner was a hit, with every dish carefully curated to ensure guests left satisfied. And of course, we couldn’t skip out on Nick’s famous “butter cake.” Guests got their own personal servings while the grooms cut into a larger cake made of butter cakes. I even snagged one of the leftover cakes myself—it is my favorite!
The toasts were heartfelt and genuine, reflecting the warmth and thoughtfulness of the grooms. And once the formalities were over, DJ Juan Castro kept the dance floor packed all night long in the indoor lounge.
All in all, it was a pleasure celebrating Nick and Daniel’s love. As they danced into their future, surrounded by loved ones, we couldn’t help but feel grateful to have been a part of their special day. Cheers to the happy couple!
